Allena B. Rivers, 69 of 806 Waynetown Road a former worker in the hot lunch program at Nicholson School here, was found dead Friday morning in her home here, after being fatally stricken during the night. She was organist for and a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and participated in several of the church's organizations. She also was active in Montgomery County Senior Citizens and Culver Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Rivers was a 1930 graduate of Waynetown HS.
A Montgomery County native, she was born May 15, 1911 a daughter of Charles and Melinda Boraker Douglas. She married Glenn B. Rivers on Jan 22, 1930. He died June 8, 1974. Surviving are a son, David of Rt 1, Waynetown; a daughter, Melinda Hedrick of Crawfordsville; a brother, Ralph Douglas of Crawfordsville; a sister, Eula Keller of Crawfordsville; and 3 grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with Rev. Lester Vanest officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday. -- kbz
